We are a recital dance school and since 1986 we have provided students with an exciting performance experience at our June recital.  This is an awesome opportunity for dancers to have the chance to shine in front of family and friends and create memories that last a lifetime.  We are currently preparing for our annual dance recital – “2012 DanceFest which will be performed this year at Merrillville High School on Sunday, June 3rd.   The recital performance times are 11:00, 2:30 and 6:00.  A big part of dance training is learning through performance.  Although performance opportunities can help prepare some students for a possible career in dance, they also contribute to children’s confidence and can result in better in-school presentations, improved social skills, and strong interview skills for future college or job opportunities.

CLASS DIVISIONS FOR RECITAL

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

APRIL

• Recital T-shirts are ordered.  $10.70  Form due by May 5th.
• Flower order form goes out.   Form due by May 25th.
• DVD order form goes out.   $34.24 – includes $3 for shipping.  Recital DVD may be ordered until the day of the recital – June 3rd.
• Recital Dances will be completed.
• Monday, April 23rd – Saturday, April 28th – Video Taping Week.  Parents bring their cam-recorders to dance class all this week to video tape your child’s dance number.  Then your dancer can practice their dance routine at home.

MAY

• Monday, May 7th – Saturday, May 12th – Costumes are passed out.
• Saturday, May 12th at 8am - Recital Tickets go on sale – Tickets will be sold online only! Tickets are $15 plus a 50
  
• Friday, May 18th – Thursday, May 24th – Pictures will be taken during class in the dance studio at Patti’s All-American with your child in full costume, hair in bun, and makeup applied.
• Tuesday, May 29th or Wednesday, May 30th – Recital Dress Rehearsal at Merrillville High School.  full costume, with hair in bun.

JUNE

•  Sunday, June 3rd  – DanceFest 2012 will take place at Merrillville High School.   Show times 11:00am, 2:30pm and 6:00pm.
